Fin VC Announces Former PayPal, Allianz & Enclave Execs As New Partners

Fin VC, a globally focused venture firm for B2B FinTech companies, announced that Ren Riley, co-founder of Enclave Liquidity Partners, Alka Gupta, former Ebay/PayPal executive and co-founder of GlobaliD, and Emy Donavan, former Global Chief Underwriting Officer for Resilience, have joined as partners. Luke Kornack joined as an Associate.

Fin VC appoints Three New Partners to Firm as Part of Firm Expansion

San Francisco, March 29th, 2021 – Fin VC, a globally focused venture capital firm at the intersection of financial services and technology, today announced that Ren Riley has joined the firm as Investment Partner, and Alka Gupta and Emy Donavan, have joined the firm as Venture Partners. Luke Kornack, a former investor at B Capital, is joining as an Associate.

Ren Riley brings 25 years of experience in the financial services sector and has been an active participant and investor in the venture capital industry for over 20 years. He began his venture career in 1999 with Oak Investment Partners focused on emerging growth, multi-stage investments in the Internet, mobile, FinTech and enterprise software and services sectors, around the globe. He remains a Venture Partner at Oak today. In 2019, he co-founded Enclave Liquidity Partners, a provider of liquidity solutions to founders, executives, and key shareholders of late-stage private growth companies. Prior to this, he held several positions including Partner, CEO and Head of Alternatives at wealth management firm Robertson Stephens.

Alka Gupta has over 20 years experience as a tech entrepreneur, fortune 500 executive, and investor in digital transformation, fintech, ecommerce, payments, marketplaces, blockchain and identity. She is Co-Founder and Board Director at globaliD, the blockchain enabled portable and interoperable identity platform, and has previously held executive roles at eBay/PayPal, Retrevo, Lycos and AT&T Solutions. Notably, Alka serves on the board of MoneyGram (Nasdaq: MGI) Digital Frontiers, and Flaist and a Board Advisor at Berkeley SkyDeck and Women in Identity. She also serves on the Finance and Audit Board Committee, MPCSD; Early Advisory Board Member Women 2.0, and is a Limited Partner and Investment Council member at Chestnut Ventures.

Emy Donavan has more than 15 years at some of the largest Professional Indemnity and Cyber carriers internationally. Prior to joining Fin VC as Venture Partner based in San Francisco, she was Global Chief Underwriting Officer for Resilience where she advised on the impact of product choice, positioning, and competitive considerations, owned portfolio management and regulatory reporting strategies for all products. Previously she served in concurrent roles as Global Head and CUO of Cyber, Tech & Media PI for Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty (AGCS) and Head of Allianz SE’s Cyber Center of Competence where she managed cyber & technology underwriting initiatives, including the first-to-market approach to eliminate “silent cyber” from Allianz’s P&C portfolios.
